Hey everybody, I just got my first plant!! I just wanted to know if the plates thingies at the bottom of a pot signifies that thereās a hole at the bottoms. Cause I donāt want my plant to die šš heās name is opium horwendorth btw

zXTOUGHXzCongrats on your first plant! The plate under is to collect any water that runs through the soil and out the hole in the bottom. This is valuable for succulentās as their preferred soil is coarse and meant to run on the drier side.

My pleasure! Also looks like you have a zebra plant, they do best if watered only when their soil is completely dried out and placed in bright indirect sunlight.

JessHi! Congratulations! I love these plants š In my experience if the plate doesnāt come off then I act like thereās no hole because the water will just get trapped anyway and if thereās too much itāll be held in the pot. Iāve drilled through these before and itās rough but do able! Or you can just make sure itās completely dry before watering. The plant will let you know!

Ooh I see, Iāll check if the plate is able to remove itself. If not Iāll just a buy a new pot Iām not good with handy tools š š but thanks for the tip!

Iāve had mine a little over a year and love it so much š„° Wonderful plants, and they barely need any care at allāI only water when the soil is dry and have a succulent-specific food I fertilize with once like every Spring and Fall (the app helps with this)! They apparently can live a really long time so wishing you the best of luck with yours and hopefully many years together!
