I took my plant home from the office to change the soil and add the skewer to stabilize the leaf. It’s been there for a week b/c I kept forgetting to take it. But last night I saw that it seems to be growing some weird mold? I’ve got some baby leaves under the soil since I’m propagating from the big leaf. Is it gonna be okay if I do nothing? What should I do?

That looks kinda like powdery mildew but plants don’t do so well when they are used to a certain spot like your office so if it was abruptly taken from one place to another it could be sensitive

Yeah I’m pretty sure that’s what happened. Hopefully now that it’s back, it’ll return to normal

Your soil is too compacted/ not draining hence the mold. Trying to prop leaves under dirt doesn’t work. They will begin to rot. To prop succulents you can literally lay them on top of the dirt and give them plenty of light, still water sparingly and from the bottom, and they’ll start to grow some roots. I think you will need to start over, that leaf on top isn’t going to recover. Use a succulent/ cactus soil for the next one.

Oh shoot really? The big leaf is the propagated one from a friend’s plant months ago but it started sprouting other leaves. Less soil next time then. Thank you!

to add on to what ppl are saying, id advise against using wooden stakes to hold plant up. makes mold worse and attracts flies

I did! I removed the wood and got rid of the moldy soil and she’s doing just fine now! She even has more little sporutlings! Thanks for your help!
