Just got done misting my, I’m not sure what holiday cactus, in all the ones I’ve ever seen or had, I’ve never seen a reddish pink one like this, its hard to see under this lighting but it has red tips. I think she looks pretty happy in her new home though🥹

I’m also new to these holiday cacti just having gotten one recently. Did a bit of reading and from my understanding the shapes of the leaves can be used to tell them apart - spikey edges are Thanksgiving, scalloped edges are Christmas and smooth edges are Easter. The shape of the flower blooms differs as well. Honestly though they are all so beautiful!!

Thanksgiving Cactus 😍it is happy. The color change is in the newest leaves. I have two large ones and the new leaves do this when happy.

That makes me so happy, I’m glad she likes it here. When I brought her home from the greenhouse and repotted her there was mold or something all in her roots along with my little Ghost Echovaria, so I wasn’t sure if they’d make it. Glad I got her back to a happy state

They can get some really pretty sun stressing from strong lights too!

This is the first time I’ve ever used a grow light for my plants but my bedroom only gets good sun in the morning, after about 11/12 it doesn’t get much sunlight so I wanted to make sure they were getting enough light, but it’s only been a couple weeks with the grow light and I’ve noticed a visible difference. A lot of my plants need a lot of light so the grow light definitely is helping

The red tips however pretty, can be signs of stress. Could be from too much light or even from moving to a new location. It should be okay though and you can enjoy the red color while it lasts.

We’ll see, at first I thought it was because she was stressed. When I first repotted her after I brought her home there was mold in the roots and I wasn’t sure if she’d make it. However, even the new leaves sprouting out on 5 of the leaves, are all bright red, which makes me think it’s actually the color of the plant rather than light stress. She’s not getting a lot of light at all, only about 10-12 hours of grow light. I’ve only had her about a month now and she’s consistently been this color the entire time, that’s actually the only reason I’d gotten her at the greenhouse. Idk but I love her, and I’ve noticed she’s perked up considerably since I repotted her

I was thinking too much light 😁 I only know from killing a few of these before I figured it out They grow in shade in the wild but I kept treating it like a cactus because of the name.
