Hello! I’m new here, I’ve had my plants several years but have had no clue how to care for them really til now! I have 2 succulents and 4 cacti needing repotting into pots with drainage holes. I repotted them once before (into pots without holes - whoops!) about 3ish years ago and it was such a nightmare I’ve put off doing it again 🙈 They also need some better substrate as they’re currently in potting soil. Not sure how they’ve survived so far to be honest! Does anyone have tips on how to repot cacti without getting spiked too much? Last time I used over gloves and they didn’t help too much. Also any other hints and tips I should know? Pics of the gang in case type makes a difference!

    I use rubber coated kitchen tongs. I also have thick leather garden gloves that are made for prickly plants. Rarely use them now though. The tongs are clumsy but work fine.

    I think Terra cotta pots (with drainage) would work best. There are so many on the market in different shapes and sizes from all over. I think you’ll find just the right beauties for your plants. Good luck!

    I 2nd the tongs- just be gentle. Enough pr3ssure to hold it but dont squeeze. You will break a few spines, its okay. I also have leather gloves. I keep one on just in case it tips or starts to drop and my instints override my brain. At least the glove will take the brunt😆

    I agree with tongs , another way you can is get heavy duty gloves specifically for cacti
