   Congratulations! My biggest tip is to definitely only water when the soil 100% dry. Planta prompts me to water my aloe way too frequently; instead of just doing it when planta tells me to, I check the soil with a toothpick or wooden skewer first by sticking it 100% the way down into the soil until it’s touching the bottom of the pot and waiting 1-5 minutes. If it comes up with any moisture on it or any soil clinging to it, it’s not ready to be watered yet. They also like bright light and will do better in bright light even though they’re sometimes marketed as low-light tolerant plants. If you repot it, make sure to use a super well draining cactus soil mix (I like to mix equal parts perlite, orchid bark, and cactus soil) and keep it in a planter that’s no more than 1-2 inches bigger than the root ball. I personally prefer plastic or terracotta pots with lots of drainage for my aloes, cacti, and succulents. For fertilizer, I’ve been using schultz cactus plus liquid plant food.

   I normally water my Aloe once a week. A tip I received for aloes is to water them when their tips get soft or look kind of “compressed”. This means not enough water is getting to the tips and time for a watering!
