Help! 😭 My beautiful Jade tree is dropping leaves like crazy. Some have brown areas in the leaves. I don’t think it’s scale. It’s in a south facing window, does get about 3-4 hours of direct sunlight. Maybe that’s too much? Maybe I over watered it? What do I do!?

you can’t give a jade too much light. usually jade drops leaves due to overwatering or not enough light

the good news is that it’s REALLY hard to kill a jade - nearly impossible short of overwatering

If I’ve been overwatering will it heal if I do better?

Hey Karly! It sounds like your jade tree might be going through a bit of stress. Here are some possible reasons and tips to help: 1. Overwatering: Jade plants are succulents, so they don’t need much water. If you’ve been watering frequently, it could be too much. Let the soil dry out completely between waterings, and check that the pot has good drainage. 2. Sunlight: While jade plants love bright light, 3-4 hours of direct sunlight, especially from a south-facing window, could be a bit too harsh and might be contributing to those brown spots. You might want to try moving it a bit farther from the window to get bright but indirect light. 3. Leaf Drop: The leaf drop could be a sign of shock from either too much water or too much direct sunlight. Once you adjust the watering and light, it should start stabilizing. 4. Brown Spots: If the spots are dry and not spreading, it’s probably from sunburn or water stress. Just remove any damaged leaves, and the plant should focus on new growth. Give it a little time with these adjustments, and hopefully, it will start to perk back up! Let me know how it goes!
