Who knows why this plant has that white stuff on it? I got it like this from the store, rinsed it but it doesn’t come off

It’s possible that the leaves got wet and sunburnt, or somehow got in contact with some paint. I have yet to see a fungal or pest problem that looks like that, but if you want to err or the side of caution or just really hate the look of that leaf, you can carefully pluck it off and trim it off. It’ll allow the plant to focus more on new growth. Hope this helps! Your gasteria otherwise looks just fine!

Thanks! That’s quite helpful. I’ll monitor it and maybe get rid of the leaf it it gets any worse

I gave several of these and that is what it is suppose to look like. It looks great but does look like it should be watered

Looks fine, just an interesting plant… although if there’s white powder, that’ll be a mildew case.

ChatGPT says it might also be fertilizer residue 🤔

Reasonable- maybe apply the fertiliser onto the soil more???

It was like that when I bought it and haven’t fertilized since, but yeah I’d do that
