Help! Should I cut this rotting piece off? Can I trim the rot and replant the long piece? Do I need to do anything else? It seemed so healthy and then I saw this!!

Not positive on this as I have limited experience with cacti but I would think you should remove the piece that is rotting. You could remove the rot from the remaining healthy portion and allow it to callus over and then repot it to root.

Yes definitely remove any rot to prevent it from spreading! You can cut the piece and then cut off the rot and let it callous before repotting. Also I would recommend any anti rot powder for that piece and sprinkle around the other pieces to help prevent it anywhere else! I get stressed about rot so when I have it I change the soil it looks like your soil is well draining so that’s great :) Just keep monitoring it and I would water again until 2 days after the soil is completely dry (this is what works before me but each plant is unique) :)
