I noticed today on my string of pearls has some sort of fungus grow ing on it. The rest of the plant is healthy and thriving. Any advise would be greatly appreciated thank you in advance.

Looks like a pretty intense mealy bug infestation! Google or search other Planta posts for all the good mealy treatment tips. I would definitely isolate this plant and check all the others in the surrounding area as best as you can! Neem oil spray or any other insecticide are great preventatives if you don’t see any more and want to be on the extra safe side. I would just chop this guy and start over with a clean pot. You can chop off the dead ends with the roots and start new roots from scratch by laying the strings in some fresh soil. You may have to secure them since they are so long but they should root pretty easy 😄
2件のいいねThank you I will try this. I appreciate you.
いいね 1件Goodluck! They aren’t too hard to get rid of. You may be picking them off the good strings for the next few weeks but just keep an eye out and you’ll get em👏
0件のいいねI’m not sure if the white stuff is mealybugs or fungus. I don’t see any bugs. I would poke around in the white stuff to see if there are bugs in it. It’s probably fungal growth if you find no bugs. Use a spray of isopropyl alcohol or a fungicide to get rid of the spread. The plant is lacking sufficient light based on the distance between the leaf nodes and the pale color. It needs a grow light within a foot of the leaves (and regular fertilizer) to get the dense growth typically seen in these plants. 🍀🪴
いいね 1件Wow thank you both so very much I will definitely take everything into consideration. I didn’t want to just start spraying a bunch of random things on it and kill it.
