      Thank you. Wish I could keep them all in this spot but it’s a temporary micro climate for a few before spring. Then I rotate with some other cacti to make sure everyone is in good shape.

    Look at you. One of each kind almost. Know something we don’t? Another Noah event coming so you’re collecting one of each kind? Versus all that animal clean up and feeding nonsense. Question for you. …newly repotted… ? Same pots with new dirt? New pots with new dirt? Minimal cursing or excessive cursing doing those with needles? Region of the US or world you are living? Do you repot yearly or bi-yearly? Philadelphia here and the app is suggesting I repot my Cows Tongue cactus. I’ve had him for 3 going on 4 summers. Or as I call them by name: - C.T. - C.T. Jr. and - G.C.T. or C.T. III (for C.T. the Third) Today they, along with their pals the Prickly Pears, got a little “Miracle Grow liquid wit water” straight up for brunch. I haven’t even had a Bloody Mary yet. (The C.T.’s are second from the left.)

    That was funny. What can I say, I want them all :D This is a temporary spot for some. Euphorbias will move to my south/south west windows. Two new guys, Senita cactus and Tephrocactus articulatus that I want to keep an eye on. Sago Palm belongs to my teen son and the others are simply just pretty to look at. Repotting… more often than not, new pot new dirt. Sometimes it depends on what I have on hand and I will mix a bit of old dirt in if it’s healthy (nothing gray or silty). I repot if there are signs of pests, pot bound, hydrophobic nursery soil or when I can say, you look rough girl, it’s time. I may be missing some things. Same pot new soil if I find that I don’t like the mix it’s in. Minimal cursing when I knock over a pot of old dirt. Otherwise I “try” to keep the process pretty zen. I use chopsticks method of lifting the cactus from the base. I’m probably more worried about damaging the spines than my hands. I scrape fine needles off my fingers with a steak knife. I’m in VB,VA zone 7b/8a So what do you think? Do you feel like your CT needs a repot?
