I have been wanting a VSOP & now that I got it I’m terrified! Really want to change out the soil bc it’s super dense & I’m currently removing a bunch of mushed pearls & vines from what I can only assume was caused by them just sitting in the wet soil. However I typically wait to repot new plants for a while or at least til the soil it’s in dries out. Any advice or tips are appreciated 🌱✨

How long have you had it? Can you let the soil dry up first so you can see what you’re dealing with?

I just got it today. I more than likely will let it hang out for a couple days, just a little worried more damage will be done in those days 😭

maybe you could help let the soil dry out to try to reduce chances of root rot?? i heard of someone sticking tampons in extra wet soil. or maybe even placing it on a few paper towels to help wick the moisture from the bottom. if its warm in your area maybe leave it outside for a day? you could also continue to monitor, and if it gets real bad then i would def repot. i try to let my new plants acclimate, but if it is doing poor then i intervene before the two week wait period. hope this can help, good luck! 🌱🌱

Just a warning. This plant can be really dramatic so sometimes if you touch it it may act like a child in an airplane that kicks your chair. So it will just drop everything. Also I’d recommend giving it better soil then letting it chill somewhere. But you’re doing great with it either way!
