I’m not sure what this is, and I can’t remember where I got it from but I’m doing something right, I think, because it has not stopped growing. I did repot it once maybe 2-3 years ago. Any insights or comments would be welcome!

plantgeekindian fig / common prickly pear, opuntia ficus-indica. yours is quite old and happy! any flowers yet?

It flowers?!? No. It hasn’t. But now I’m going to be 👀.

it does! they're grown commercially for their fruit, which is delicious if you've never tried prickly pear. the paddles are also edible if you remove the spines. if it gets nice and hot outside where you live, stick it outside and see what happens. it's a little bit leggy, which means it's not getting quite enough light. usually they're more low to the ground.
