I think I need to give up on succulents :( I was actually keeping them alive for once, then Arizona summer came and melted all of them.

Succulents don’t like the heat. 😢 I would recommend getting them a fan, and consider moving them indoors if you haven’t already. Make sure you’re not overwatering them. If they all have it, it could also be a sign of disease.

Also it looks like there might be mold in the soil.

Keep them inside then. I live in NM which can get pretty hot too.

It's definitely true that succulents can be picky about their environments, but this looks like mold to me. In the first pic for sure. I had this problem last year when I didn't quarantine a gift pack of succas and all but one were infested with mold. It was also a valuable lesson to be really careful about reusing soil. Best first step would be to toss any succulent soil that's not totally brand new to avoid reinfection. The one in the second photo looks like a zebra plant I got - it was getting similar brown sections no matter what I did or where I put it (for me at least the key to succulents is find a place they like. Just keep moving them around every week or two until you find a magic spot. It's usually whatever is most inconvenient lol). This spring though I repotted it and it has taken off! Even the brown spots are "reinflated" so to speak and it's almost doubled in size! Maybe give yours a pot upgrade?

You can see her if you look towards the center of the plant on the outside of the spikes the little scabby-looking scars. Those brown sections used to go all the way around/through but it's bounced back. Mine were never quite so bad as yours, and this is less concrete advice, more "this was my experience 🤞"

Top view shows the other side of some of the scars and new growth (the orange is cayenne pepper - don't ask). Now that I'm thinking about it, it did also get relocated from a spot in a south-facing picture window that's too hot for most of my plants and into a windowless corner with a grow light, so maybe my repotting idea isn't helpful. Now you have all of my puzzle pieces at least - best of luck!!
