Agma the Destroyer

Hey guys I really need advice. Is this guy fully rotten? The roots don't look bad to me. If anything he's underwatered. He's got a few sort of dark patches near the base of a few of his leaves. Do I remove these? Are they rotten? Or is it just the recent light watering I gave him a few days ago?

I also want to mention I pulled a leaf off of him and it stinks SO BAD. However- I've taken leaves off of aloe before and it smelt like this. I'm guessing raw aloe just stinks or something?? Or is there a sign of rot?

      I think it’s stinky too

I'd take anything mushy off. And maybe give a sprits of peroxide to kill anything

The top part of the discoloured base leaves are nice and hard. Do you think it still means I should remove those?

Personally I would. I haven't dealt with a mushy cactus/succ that went back to firm. But maybe someone else might have more experience with mushy issues

You can try to propagate the tops of the leaves if they’re still firm!

Oh I didn't know you could cut them and prop them like that! I'll do that then. Make me feel less like I'm killing good leaves LOL

Tbh I haven’t had the best luck with leaf propping aloes but my best tip is to really let them callous before planting!
