Hello! I’m super new to plant ownership and have no idea what I’m doing. I went crazy at our local nursery and got a bunch of succulents for $1 before they closed for the season. I 3D printed this bowl that has lots of drainage holes and planted in succulent/cactus soil. I did plant them before I knew about pests and now I see these little “bites” and a web of some sort. Are these spider mites or actual spiders? I’ve sprayed it with neem oil but it doesn’t look like that was enough. Any advice would be appreciated!

    It kinda looks more like spiders than spider mites, I don’t see any spider mite damage just some older physical damages that look calloused over like that brown speck on the second photo by the red tip. Spiders don’t mind about neem oil, but they can’t stand peppermint, so I would try something that has a mix of both oils just to hit all your bases. I personally use a mix of distilled water, neem oil, clove oil, peppermint oil, rosemary oil, isopropyl alcohol, white vinegar, and citrus oil based meyers soap to wash and treat all my plants. Just make sure you dry up with a microfiber towel afterwards. Usually 10-60 seconds does the trick without damaging anything. If you can’t stand microfiber like me, I use those fancy paper towels that look more like fabric than paper.

    those are normal spiders methinks. agree with nikiller, mint oils do the trick for most bugs

    I agree. Looks like regular spiders. Spider mites are usually not attracted to succulents but mealies are another story. I always have a couple in quarantine.
