Hi guys! Any experts wanna help me understand these beauty’s? Here’s my Copperhead Sedum,.. I understand from the name that they’re usually copper around the edges; also confirmed by the fact that when I first got her she was rather red (but also very etiolated as shown in the second pic). So my question really is; why has she lost all her copper? Just fully green now? Is it lack of sun? Too much sun? She’s on a south facing window and has been thriving ever since I got her with fast new growth recently too! So she’s doing okay, I’m just confused on why she’s lost her pretty colouring? Thanks in advance:)

I never had this specific succulent before but one similar (that I can’t remember the name) mine lost its coloring due to over watering. Temperature might be one reason too? I’m not an expert in succulents but thats off of my experience!

Some plants get “sun stressed” which is basically a sun tan. It’s not bad for the plant. I would say it’s most likely just getting less direct/strong sun than it previously was. I have my succulents in a SW facing window and get some sun stressing but not as much as when I keep my succulents outside.

Agree about the sun. Mine is green in the winter and yellow in the summer.

if you have the ability to get a grow light it can definitely help.

I’m going to order a few grow lights when I get paid for a few of my other plants so I guess this one will have to join the others under the lights ahah!
