0 Me gustaOohhh nooo. Is the top still okay? Maybe cut it, callus and prop it. In a better draining pot/gritty soil?
1 me gustaThat is what I was gonna say
1 me gustaIt appears to be okay, but Iām not sure Wolfenā¦..
0 Me gustaItās 23 degrees here and itās been in the cold for two daysā¦. You think itās still alive ?
1 me gustaAlways worth a shot. Some cacti are pretty cold hardy, it gets really cold in the desert. I was just in AZ and it was 76 day and high 30s at night. And this is an unusual warm winter for them.
1 me gustaWow thatās a significant temperature change. Okay Iāll give it a try. Do I cut the rotted part off and let it callus over?
2 Me gustaIt is! It's crazy. I came back with some pups from my parents cacti they have, since they're used to cold Yes, I'd just cut it until it all looks healthy. Maybe spritz it with a 1:3 dilution of peroxide to make sure you get any rot germs. Then let it callus over and then plant it.
1 me gustaAww you have new plantsā¦ā¦thatās awesome. Thank you for your time and resources, I will definitely try to save him.
1 me gustaOh no. It may not be prop-able than if theres not a good 1" or so section . š¢
0 Me gustaIkrā¦. We tried š
1 me gustaHey there Iām sorry for your cactus, and while I grow mainly tender succulents, I would imagine that the higher organic ratios in this substrate may have contributed to the root rot. Not sure if you were asking for advice on possibly why it was rotted though :)
