I was just given this Christmas cactus as a gift. After doing some research I learned that there are Easter, Thanksgiving, and Christmas cactus and they are commonly confused with one another. Just wanted to check to make sure so I can take care of it properly. What kind do you guys think it is?

That’s a Christmas cactus, you can look at a photo online of the three different types and then confirm what yours is.

Christmas cactus: no sharp points on the edges, scalloped edges with arrowhead shaped segments that are flat at the top and pointy at the bottom. Easter cactus is oval shaped with a lightly scalloped edge.

Be prepared for the best cactus ever! Once you find a spot they’re happy with they don’t let you down. This was the second bloom of the season. This plant is ~20 yrs old and still recovering from my mother’s abuse during this time lol. It’s a cutting from a ~40 yr old plant. Most of my family members inherited one.
