So I got home today from work, and Aloe2’s leaves in the middle where completely detached. 😳 So I removed them, trimmed her back and gave them water. They are outside but in the shade and have faded in color. The bottom root is still white. So I mixed the soil up a bit, watered them, and shifted the pot. HELP!
Unfortunately, I think they might be beyond saving. It seems like you may have overwatered them. Root rot destroys succulents really fast

1 LikeAlso consider pot size as a factor, start with a 4 in pot. Best that they are snug than too large of a pot.

I agree the coloring looks like edema. If they are in shade, that could have contributed to the rot, keeping them wetter longer than they like. What kind of cactus soil? A lot of times marketed cactus/succulent soil is just mostly peat, which holds way to much water for any dry species. I always recommend getting a peat-free cactus soil or gritty-mix , or make your own.

My aloe did the same thing. Turned grey and I wasn’t watering it too often. Turns out, it just wasn’t getting enough light. I moved it to a grow light indoors and it sprung back to green and started growing again after a month or so. It now has too many pups lol. I would recommend more light, or a grow light indoors
1 Like Wow! Okay thank you! I won’t give up on it yet! 🥹 I am using Miracle Gro Cactus, Palm and Citrus Fast drying mix. Currently my aloes are outside, in the shaded part of the house. They have been in a dark room since Dec, and I barely have any light in my house. No good window to place them near.
0 Likes Highly recommend getting a grow light then. I got some off amazon for like 15-20 depending on how many and power/brightness.
