Hi! I recently went to Home Depot and was looking at the gardening section and fell in love with the succulents. I was wondering if anybody on here could help me, I really want to get more into them but I want a low maintenance/easy one to take care of, I don’t care if I have to repot it or anything like that I just don’t know much about that either, also i would like for it to be an indoor one, but I still want to see it grow overtime and see it’s progress. Can anyone help me find what I’m looking for please!!! Thank you.

Thank you so much, what are they called? And do they come in individual pots?

Haworthia are always good to start with. They are very forgiving, and I love them.

Thank you so much do you know if I have to repot them or add any soil? That’s what I mean when I say I want something easy!

Succulents are my first choice of houseplants. Two caveats though. You need proper soil and a bright source of light. Most supplement with name brand grow lights. I use Jacks Gritty Mix with some standard houseplant soil. The packaged cactus/ succulent mix is not good. Starter plants would Haworthias, Gasterias, Gonialoes, and Jade plants. If you want the round symmetrical succulent looking plant, try Aeonium Kiwi, Echeveria Elegans, or appropriate for you, the Echeveria Lola. The Lola is a very cool looking plant. First pic, Lola front left. Third pic is Haworthias and Gasterias. Good luck and have fun.

Honestly, any succulents you buy will need to be repotted. They usually come in crappy seed starter soil, which will end up leading to rot, or they will get root bound quickly and won't thrive.

I got some succulents a little over 2 months ago and personally I’m in love with kalanchoes! most of them grow really quickly and are super forgiving and resilient! I especially love the kalanchoe tomentosa, chocolate soldier, and lavender scallops in terms of showing quick growth! I got these as 2inch succulent starters and initially planted them in crappy soil but switched the soil and they’re doing great! I also have 20+ babies from my kalanchoe lavender scallops

these are the babies from my lavender scallops (they form in the ridges of the leaves and if the leaf is touching soil, it’ll start throwing pups out)

Ive gotten succulents from both Walmart and Home Depot, just look over the plant and make sure you don’t see any signs of pests or rotting!

no problem! just a heads up, in my experience they only have the larger potted plants listed on the website and you have to go in person to see what smaller plants they have in the store

@Lola I do a mix of organic cactus succulent mix (Hoffman's) or regular potting mix and gritty mix (Bonsai Jacks or Molly's but even a lava rock mix will do). I am in the US South where humidity can be an issue, so I grow in Terracotta with around 50/50 or 40/60 potting to Gritty Mix.

this may be late, but personally, I use regular soil with a layer of sand underneath. my plants have been perfectly fine with it :^) as for pots, as long as they arent too big, go crazy! heres some of the pots I have! after repotting, it may take them a bit to adjust before you start seeing new growth though
