I just got this guy. A Gymnocalycium Cristada Crested. Planta doesn't recognize the scientific name or the plant. I want to make sure he gets the care he needs. Also, is there a common name? Thanks in advance ☺️

    Reach out to Planta. They’re really good about responding. They can either give you recommendations on similar plants, or can probably add it to the database.

    Hi, I’m not sure but maybe it’s a crested San Pedro cactus? It’s very unique and beautiful whatever it is :)

    At first, I thought I was looking at a ginormous caterpillar! 🐛😅 I’m wondering if its care is similar to a San Pedro crested cactus, like another member mentioned. If so, it’ll probably do best in bright, direct light and only watered once the soil is completely dry. Hope it thrives—it’s definitely a unique-looking plant! 🌵
