Hi succulent circle!! My echevaria has a dying leaf and this is the second time this has happened, a couple of the leaves on the bottom are also looking like they are headed that way too :/ this happened one other time and I thought it was from overwatering but I haven’t watered it since. The leaves in the middle look nice and healthy but I’m still a little worried about her, any ideas of how I can help her or is it just not a super big deal??
My echevaria did this too. It lost all of its bottom leaves. Mine was from over watering, and it wasn’t getting enough direct sunlight. I would just keep holding off on watering and make sure it’s getting enough light.

No real cause for concern but if you want to avoid it, let it *completely* dry out before watering, get it as much overhead sun as you can (or rotate a quarter turn weekly in a south facing window) If you want the best case scenario, get it into a terra cotta pot & try bottom watering. Good luck!

My concern is how the leaves look when falling off. If they look dry and wrinkled, it’s a normal response to too little water. They are just using their stored water. It’s just time to water. If they look mushy and translucent, it’s a reaction to overwatering and you might need to be concerned about root rot. That pot looks really big for a plant that size. The roots should be able to touch the bottom and sides of the pot to suck up all the water. If it can’t, it will get root rot eventually. Also, glazed pottery holds s lot of moisture verses terracotta so that could add to the problem. Does it have drainage holes? Remember that succulents store water in their leaves so they don’t need to store water in the soil. You wait to water until all the dirt is dry and the bottom leaves get more spongy feeling. Then you water thoroughly until the water runs out the drainage holes. I do that a couple times within a few minutes. It should suck up all that water in a day and then you don’t water again until the bottom leaves feel spongy again. If it doesn’t dry out in a day, there is a problem. Either too big of a pot, wrong soil, not enough sun, no drainage holes, needs a more breathable pot like terracotta, needs more airflow (fan), or the plant has root rot (or no roots). Overwatering isn’t caused by too much water at once, It’s from watering too often or the dirt staying wet too long.

2 gillningarThe leaves get wrinkled when it’s over watered and it’s normal when this happens just give it more sun. When it gets leggy cut at the base and put the stem in dirt and keep the pot and all of the roots so it can make more suculants.
