Hello! Does my succulent need help? I’ve had this one for a little over 4 months and it’s started to lean more and more. It hasn’t fall over or broken yet, but I’m scared it will soon. At first I thought it may have been reaching for light, but I have it right next to the window. It gets bright indirect light all day, and I open the blinds every morning. Does anyone have any tips to keep it from breaking or falling over? Also, does anyone know why it could be leaning like this?

It looks very leggy which is from the plant trying to basically stretch out to the light. Is there a space outside that the plant would be okay? Maybe somewhere where it can get a bit more indirect light

I could probably bring it outside. I’m just scared the temperature may be too cold for it.

Google image search turned up that this is a Donkey’s Tail succulent which is supposed to be leggy. If signs of under watering are similar to the Portulacaria Afra that I have, then you should water it when the leaves begin to shrivel.

      I think it’s actually a pachyphytum

Repot it and put it in a brighter light if possible. It doesn't need much water. Those beads have water in them so water when dry and put it in a terra cotta pot. They do well in those.

How much bigger of a pot should a put it in? Because I’m scared to possibly shock it.

The lighting you describe may seem bright for you but it is still not enough for this plant. It needs sun or a very bright grow light. One simple thing you can do is raise the blinds instead of just opening. Those slats block more light than you realize. Sorry Brian, but this plant is definitely not a donkey’s tail. Google was incorrect. I’m thinking maybe a sedum adolphi. If I’m correct and I may not be. But here is pic of mine. They do naturally trail and color up nicely with some sun stress, or in my case, a very bright grow light.

I have to agree that it’s not a donkey’s tail. It could have been mislabeled by the seller. The donkey’s tail plant has a different leaf shape with the stem thin enough to dangle off a pot. The end of the stems have leaf tips pointing together towards the end. The leaves fans out perpendicular to the stem on the above plant. Both need similar care wrt light and water. Lots more light is better once it acclimates to higher intensity and longer light exposure. 🪴🍀

Yeah I thought the same thing, because to me it didn’t look like a donkeys tail. But thank you, I will try and get it as much light as I can!

Another thought, I assume you are doing succulent care. Quite different from tropicals.
