Can anybody identify this cactus or succulent? I think it might be croaking in second picture. I just watered it for the second time. Was dry as a bone and a lot softer than when I first planted and watered it. It’s been five days since the first watering. It’s planted in cactus mix soil. Planta said not to water it for another 16 days from today. I’m west of Phoenix. It’s gets a lot of morning sun and it’s been in the 90s and 100s out. I wrapped a white towel around the planter to keep it cooler until I can find a new one that isn’t black. Think it might be a deformed or crested something, but I really have no clue.

I have one that looks like her, Cereus Peruvianus Monstrose. Yes, crested form, they're beautiful. Water when soil is bone dry. I live in Phoenix too, and you tell me about the temperature, haha! I got mine in 4 in shallow terracotta, outdoor under 30% mesh and gets about morning to 2p sun. Cooler season, she was on full day sun and noticed that she gets sun-stressed dark. Moved her to just the morning sun and got her green happy color.
