Hi! I have a few new plants, rhipsalis paradoxa, rhipsalis ewaldiana, rhipsalis ramulosa (I think?), rhipsalis trigona. I am finding contradictory information online about light. Can I put them close to the south window indoors, where they get sun or is that too much light for them?

This is the one I think is rhipsalis ramulosa. Is that correct?

I believe this is an orchid cactus.

Not a rhipsalis expert by any means, but I believe the genus typically lives on trees in jungles and rainforests. As such, being near a south facing window might be a little too much light, but if you set it back a bit, it should be fine. I know what you mean about contradictory info. Some say, it’s a cactus so it needs full sun, but that is false for rhipsalis and other rainforest cacti.

Also generally speaking, when young leaves or growth margins are red like that, it's a protective pigment against harsh light so that may also be a sign that it's getting too much.

Good point! I am going to move into the coffee table that gets indirect bright south light but not sun
