Halp! I got this succulent from my sister as birthday gift last September. It was tightly packed with a lot of other succulents and most of them didn't survive. I have been watering it as recommended. But this morning I saw one of the bigger leaves turn black at the base. I have since removed it. Don't even know what exactly is it. Some kind of Tiger Aloe!? The plant hasn't grown a lot over the past few months. Please advise

Definitely move it to a smaller pot, succulents prefer to be a little root bound and the bigger pot holds onto more water for longer. Have you got a moisture meter? I’d recommend using one to check the soil is definitely dry before each watering. Other than that I think it’s pretty happy, just the soil holding onto too much water

With bigger pots they focus on growing roots instead of new leaves

I think I repotted it a few months ago. The roots were minimal.

What size is the pot verses the plant?

I’d go with a pot around the same size as the plant, maybe only 1cm bigger, but I don’t know, just an idea

Yes I've got a moisture meter. Have been using it before watering. The pot is terracotta so it dries pretty quick
