my euphorbia that i got 4 weeks ago hasn’t grown at all and i just want to make sure there’s nothing wrong. i gave it more stakes because it falls over and tilts very easy. i don’t do anything besides what planta tells me. he probably could use a spray down of neem oil but i will likely wait until his next watering. he came with all these marks and i want to make sure he doesn’t have a fungus. i just got the systemic granules and put them over all my plants and i’ll wait for next watering to push it into soil (finals season is making me a lazy plant parent)

I'd assume the markings are just physical damage from being touched or packed in with other cacti. slow and stunted growth in cacti can be caused by over watering, too much light, or stress. I would assume the last one.

I am working very hard to not overwater him because I know it’s hard to come back from. I can’t imagine it’s too much light for this guy, he’s under a SANSI light 12 hours a day. Could very well be stress still

I would not expect to see growth in just 4 weeks. They grow slowly. Putting it in a pot that is wider than it is tall will help the tipping problem. I could be wrong but I don't think the brown marks are fungal. My similar plant has similar markings. If they get small punctures during shipping, or any other time it will develop a brown spot.

Thank you! I am so used to my tropical plants (I wanted to try something different). And they all grow like weeds or I can see growth within 4 weeks. I’ll keep being patient šŸ¤žšŸ˜Œ

That’s a beautiful variegated Euphorbia. I love that you use such a chunky substrate, unfortunately that is the one for Aroid plants, not cactus. If it’s tippy, you got a plant with a very small root system. When you repot, use a cactus mix ( not big box store stuff, that retains way too much water). I also would sprinkle mycorrhiza on the roots before planting. Here’s a picture of something I found on Amazon I’m going to try next, it looks like a good mix.

This is the Sol Soils cactus mix. I would be open to branching into something more specific to Euphorbias though. I wanted to make sure he survived first before I spend money on soil for one plant lol he’s my only desert plant. I have a hard time with them but I love seeing others’ when they’re so big and beautiful!
