Plantz: On the rocks, shaken not stirred? Is it antiquated thinking to put rocks on the bottom of a potted plant below the soil to act as drainage? did i hear something about a water table? I don’t want to repot everyone. I’m questioning my decisions. Please advise.
Rocks in bottom of pot helps with drainage in a pot with a drain port. Does not work in a planter without drainage. It actually exacerbates the water issue. I forget the exact scientific reasoning for it not working. I don’t use rocks, I use leca instead.

2개 좋아요 Thank you, yes all my pots have drainage holes as well as the rocks. I just hope i didn’t mis-read some information that led me to believe ANY rocks at the bottom are no good, regardless of drainage hole.
