Hi plant people! I was gifted this cutting and told it is a dragon fruit. I'd love opinions on if it is, in fact, a dragon fruit plant. If so, should I cut all the skinny shoots off? Thanks!

It looks like a standard orchid cactus rather than a dragon fruit variety. Dragon fruit leaves/stems have three sides. It could be flat from a lack of enough sunlight. The spindly new growths usually appear from low light, as well. I recommend cutting off the etiolated skinny bits. Acclimate the plant to take brighter light. Dragon fruit cactus likes direct sunlight for at least 8 hours a day. A strong grow light will do. Run it at least 12 hours a day. 🌵🪴🍀
2 J'aimeThank you! Orchid cactus makes far more sense.
1 j'aimeIt looks like the suching rooted cactus- I've seen these in buckskin gulch myself. I like to add baking soda to my roots to alleviate corking during propogation.
