Need some extra help with this guy. The planta app is not really recognizing what kind of plant this is and I’m getting a bunch of different answers. It looks like ghost plant to me?? I can’t find anything else on the internet that grows similar to this. Any advice with care for this guy helps all the leaves have fallen off but the soil has been completely dry every time I’ve watered it. And I see nubs on the stem but everything I’m reading on the internet says new growth comes from the top??

hmm…this looks like something that has lost most of its leaves. perhaps some kind of echeveria?

I’m stumped too lol when it had all its leaves it recognized it as Mexican snowball. But I have one and it grows so differently.

it looks like this got tall reaching for light and then just dropped all its leaves en masse (they’re known to do this) the cluster at the top is leaves - you can use a clean blade to cut just below that, let it callous for a bit and then place it on top of some soil and wait for it to root

hi, i have the same type of plant, i asked a friend who knew succulent types and she said it was a ghost plant. definitely looks like a ghost plant compared to a mexican snowball and planta clocked mine as a mexican snowball as well. here's what mine looks like

i didnt behead it, i just got it a couple days ago, i'm not sure if it does well with cuttings, but definitely do something about it because the stories i do see of plants that grow super tall, they end up dying from using too much energy to reach for the sun

Just make sure what you use is sharp and sterilized with isopropyl alcohol and then cut and least under the second set of leaf nodes. You want a good bit of stem. Let it dry for 3 or so days and then stick it in moist but not wet soil.

My other plant app says it's a candle plant and it's healthy. My guess to just keep watering it 😕
