I took this poor boobie cactus guy from my boyfriend to save it. It used to be in shaded area, potted in sand. The root looks ok, albeit dry. Can I save it?

The roots can be too dry to take in any water or to take in enough water to rehydrate itself and the rest of the plant. The cells can be too dry to expand with water. The fine hair roots that draw in water can easily dry out. It’s a dry rot condition that kills off the plant. 🪴🍀

0 likesThere is no fix for dry rot roots. You can only plant it and see if it rehydrates after watering.
