Hey everyone! I’ve noticed that my Jade has been getting some strange spots that I haven’t seen before. I live in a pretty cloudy and rainy area during the fall and winter, so it’s hard to give it sunlight for most of the day. I’ve had this Jade for about a year now, and while the top layer of soil is mainly to keep the roots in place, the majority of the soil is actually pretty airy. Is my Jade okay, and is there anything I can do to help it?
Looks like it’s in decent health actually! Buuuut with the weather you described it may be staying too moist regardless. What would probably help enormously is providing it with a good grow light that gives it the right amount of PPFD per day so that it can keep growing and put that water to good use.

0 Mi piace I don’t know if the soil is a cactus/succulent mix but it has a bunch of white pebble looking things in it.
0 Mi piace That’s probably perlite which is great for aeration, and it looks like it has peat moss and bark from the photos. If you’d rather play it on the safe side you could get some cactus/succulent mix and transfer them to a pot large (and small) enough for the roots to be able to grow but not be overwatered 😊
