SOS I haven’t watered my boobie cactus but once this month and nothing before that. It’s squishy at the base and looks rotted but the taller one has new growth. I’m not exactly sure what to do, I don’t want to have to cut them back, but if they are rotted I guess that’s the only option. Is it possible that it’s just too hot outside? They get full sun for 6 hours at 80-100 degrees F
Chop the rot to be safe; you won’t lose too much of him. If you let it go you’ll likely only lose more or worse.

nope they're definitely rotting. chop off all of the gross stuff, and then look at the wound to see if there's any discoloration on the inside. cut until there's no discoloration. let them callous for a week or so, then into dry soil and no water for another two weeks so it has time to root. the planta schedules are infamous for telling you to overwater, ALWAYS check before you water. with a cactus like this you would gently pinch one of the boobies (lol), if it's soft it's thirsty, if it's totally firm then hit snooze.
