My succulent went from the healthy side (bottom left) to a shriveled mess (top right) in 5 days. All I did was water it 4 days ago after 18 days and a heat wave (last few days) . Could this be too much water or that it got shriveled up from the heat? Any way to revive it? Help!

Looks dehydrated. Was it in the sun all day? And just to be sure, when you water these guys make sure they are totally drenched. If the soil becomes very dry, it can repel the water. Then need to do an extended bottom water. Judging by the lack of stress coloring, I would assume it had not been in extended sun before. If so, acclimation is necessary. But do your best to hydrate and hopefully it will come back without much damage.

So you think I should water it? I watered it heavily after 18 days which is usual… it’s been very healthy for about two months on that schedule. However, I will admit I don’t like the soil it’s in and it does sort of repel so I do have to bottom water. When I first got it, it wasn’t so close to the sun so yes, now it lives in the sun and it seemed to work for a while. Should I move it? Water it? Repot it? The other succulents that live near it are doing fantastic. I’m surprised at the sudden change because this one seemed pretty tough. I’m a calathea lover… this one is my daughter’s. Not my forte

Totally opposite plants. You water it when the soil is bone dry. I would assume from the plant pic that the soil is bone dry. Stick your finger into it and test it. Pot should feel very light. If yes, then you should water. If soil is wet, then you probably have a root rot problem. Try to rehydrate and then think about maybe repotting into a quality succulent/cactus soil.

And get it out of the direct sun for now.

It’s moist. Not soaking wet but wet and the lower two layers are almost rotted. This could be for me watering it the other day. It looks like the bottom layers held the water or something.

Not good. Easiest is toss it. You can try to save but to me it would not be worth it. Others may feel otherwise.

This has happened to so many of my succulents I'm now essentially starving them of water. I do mist them & top soil occasionally. You could try a repot into dry soil but thats a hail mary.

Stop misting your succulents. It’s a killer.

Misting is not good for these guys because that is not their environment. And when you water, it should be a drenching downpour. But best to avoid the leaves. Reason is because of lack of ventilation inside. Outside there would be a lot more air movement.

Just did a repot I to dry soil - it’s just getting worse by the day. Someone said I have to bottom water it, but it was really wet when I took it out of the soil so I’m scared to add any water. Here’s what it looks like today, any advice?

If the soil is repelling water get a chop stick and chop up your soil when watering. Instantly breaks up the soil!
