Total newbie here! I made the mistake of repotting my constrained Aloe (pictured on the left) in regular potting soil in a glazed pot. It started doing very poorly almost right away, so a few days later I repotted it again in cactus soil in a terracotta pot. The middle picture is last Saturday, and the rightmost picture is this morning (2 days after repotting). Still some way to go be be totally healthy, but I see an improvement. All this to say, lesson learned on following recommended soils. I think my aloe (Mal) will pull through!

Repotting it over and over will eventually kill it.

Good to know! But I think keeping it in the white pot with regular soil would have done it in within a few days.

Too much repotting is definitely stressful but you did the right thing in getting it in the right soil and in a breathable pot. It looks a little low in that last pot. Check it to make sure the soil isn't coming too high over the foliage. If it is pull it up a little bit otherwise the base of the leaves are going to rot. Yes that would be another transplanting but still a better option than leaving the foliage buried. Aloes are pretty tough so you should be okay. Generally, when repotting the soil level should come to about half inch or so from the top of the pot and the plant should be positioned so the soil is not coming too high up at the base of the plant. Wherever it was growing the best keep the soil level at the same place.

That’s a great tip, I’ll check it tonight.

I like the trinket you have in with him now! I always give my struggling plants a little buddy too to help them recover
