Can anyone please tell me whatâs going on with my zebra plant? The planta experts are telling me to check the roots but Iâm not sure it being root bound would cause this? I have another larger one and the same spot and itâs doing just fine. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you!
I would suggest you check your roots to make sure they are not rotten or dead. I donât know what is causing this. But I had a zebra plant that wasnât really growing for a while and I didnât notice because I was in bed sick off and on for most of a year. I was just watering the plants in an upstairs room once a month or so since I was rarely where they were. Once I got back to my plants, I started watering it every two weeks but it just wouldnât grow. I dumped it out, and the roots were mostly gone! So I downsized the pot since the pot should only be as big as their roots. I started watering it once a week, but the roots still werenât growing. I ended up putting it in a jar of water for a month and it was fun to watch the roots grow back. Slowly the leaves plumped back up. Itâs now back in dirt for the last two weeks and I am watering whenever the dirt is dry. My point is, you really wonât know without dumping it out to check the roots and it wonât hurt it.đ
