Can anyone please tell me what’s going on with my zebra plant? The planta experts are telling me to check the roots but I’m not sure it being root bound would cause this? I have another larger one and the same spot and it’s doing just fine. Any suggestions welcome. Thank you!
I would suggest you check your roots to make sure they are not rotten or dead. I don’t know what is causing this. But I had a zebra plant that wasn’t really growing for a while and I didn’t notice because I was in bed sick off and on for most of a year. I was just watering the plants in an upstairs room once a month or so since I was rarely where they were. Once I got back to my plants, I started watering it every two weeks but it just wouldn’t grow. I dumped it out, and the roots were mostly gone! So I downsized the pot since the pot should only be as big as their roots. I started watering it once a week, but the roots still weren’t growing. I ended up putting it in a jar of water for a month and it was fun to watch the roots grow back. Slowly the leaves plumped back up. It’s now back in dirt for the last two weeks and I am watering whenever the dirt is dry. My point is, you really won’t know without dumping it out to check the roots and it won’t hurt it.😊
