Hi! I'm not sure if you offer help but I can't seem to keep my little pearl plant happy. He is in my office at work on a plant stand right in front of a south facing window that gets full sun. I generally filter his sun through other pots so it's not too much. I use the planta app to help with watering and fertilizer reminders. The petals always seem to look like this and never round and juicy. Do you have any suggestions?

    Maybe water them a bit more frequently and they might get better. Because deflation in ball leaves is a sign of under-watering.

    Are you sure that's not Senecio herreanus - String of Tears? In which case it looks pretty normal

      Pretty sure because at times I can keep them round.

      i see in the past pics you have they def look like SOP. the soil could be hydrophobic and the water is draining down the sides of the pot. maybe try soaking it for around half an hour (put the pot in a slightly bigger container and fill that about halfway, the soil should absorb the water from the drainage hole in the bottom). you could also repot with fresh soil :) good luck!

    Shish kabob skewers or chop sticks work great to gently break up the soil and add a bit more air to roots before watering. I find it necessary especially for small pots where the soil tends to become hydrophobic fast. Also allows you to mix up top watering and soaking because it can be a pain to bottom water all the time.

    I’d also suggest putting more soil in the pot so that the pearls are level with the rim instead of below it. I had some that looked similar to yours and doing that along with repotting with better draining soil helped.

    Strings like a lot of top light. And mine did not like being in my mostly west facing window because the heat was intense in the afternoons. After you’ve done all the above excellent suggestions, I’d give it more top light.
