Update on my cactus! So, I repotted her, and she’s looking way healthier but the fuzzy little thing it grew fell off on its own. It seems to be growing a new one though! The little fuzzy white dots seem to sprout these tails? I have no idea what’s going on, should I plant the fuzzy guy?? Someone help. I bought this cactus from a Home Depot on a whim like 2 years ago, I was not prepared for the drama and fuzz balls.

I’m thinking they have to be, because they just kinda popped off, and I don’t see how else this guy would propagate itself!

So I did, and it is a baby cactus. If they stay on the plant they grow like a new bulb off the main cactus, but it seems like you can harvest seed pods from them too. I have no idea what I’m doing, so I’ve planted it in a small pot with succulent soil. Maybe it’ll grow? It looks like a small truffula tree from the Lorax rn lol.

Mind had one fluff when I bought it, and I barely tapped it the other day and it fell off. Maybe I’ll try planting it, too!

It responded good to the repot! It most likely just abandoned the flower to redirect energy into acclimating to the new repot. It looks way healthier than the first post you made. It growing another fuzz is a good sign. It's either another flower, a seed pod, or a pup. Now just make sure you meet the light requirements with as much light as possible and water when completely dry.

It’s a flower bud. If it blooms, the flowers are white. In order for it to fruit, the flower would need to be successfully pollinated with another flower. If the fruit ripens, it would contain seeds. The fuzzy piece that fell off is an aborted flower. This species, Echinopsis subdenudata, offsets (pups) from the base.
