Hi there! My poor balloon cactus was overwatered. The pruny part feels squishier than the rest of the plant, but not mushy at all. There are no dark rot areas. Is it too late to save my guy? Any suggestions? 🥺

If its squishy then probably not worth saving. Sorry. But if you love it alot you could always try to save it. Sometimes you know know.
0件のいいねcut off any roots that are squishy or wrinkly. cactuses are hardy. let it dry out for two or three days, then stick it into dry soil. wait two weeks to water. he can definitely come back from this

Just wanted to add that when you do water it, adding some hydrogen peroxide to the water when you do eventually water it, and covering the roots with a healthy amount of Bonide’s Rooting Powder before placing it in fresh soil can help kill any lingering bacteria from the previous overwatering AND help it form a new, stronger root system to help it recover much faster.
いいね 1件This looks saveable to me! Follow plantgeek/adrian’s instructions. In the future, alongside the Planta watering schedule, i usually use a paper towel placed under nursery pots, or wedged into the drainage hole of ceramic pots, to wick away any access water for my small cacti. That way they are never soggy.
