I have this flaming Katy that is in a hard pot and it’s SUPER bare. Each 10in stem has 6 leaves at the top of the stems. I can’t really tell if it needs repotted but it gets dry really quickly and its leaves get yellow and fall off. It did bloom tho. I’m not attaching a picture because there is not much to show.

Sounds to me like it may need a bigger pot but it also sounds like you should propagate from the tops of those stems. You could still repot and leave about 2 in of the bare stem. The plant should put out new growth from the base.

Mine gets like that over the winter and then fills out in the summer when I put it outside

They propagate very well. If you wanna address bare stems, you can prune and let the stems callous over for a day or two and plant in soil. Don’t be afraid to give it a hard prune because new growth will very quickly pop out around the node. I successfully propagated my kalanchoe. Mines in a soilless succulent mix and I water it every 7 to 10 days. If yours gets a lot of great direct sun, especially now in the spring and summer, you’ll have to water it more often.

Yes I forgot that part about letting the stems callus over for a day or two before planting the propagations.

Seems like they are like usual succulents! Thank you for the refresher!!!

This guy, I pruned and propagated from the mother plant last summer, it bloomed in January, and a few weeks ago I gave it a hard prune after the blooms died, and there’s already a lot of new growth.
