Hello everyone, new to this app but we have used “Greg” for some time now. I have this Montrose “funny Bunny” cactus and he has been doing great, or so we think. We got him in June of this last year but they told us at the store to only water every two weeks, but maybe every 2-3 months in the cold climate. The issue is, even in our plant apps, they say every two weeks. Do we trust the plant app? Or do we continue the routine that the app is trying to get us on? My concern is some of these white spots starting to show up. I don’t know if it is an issue that is starting to ask for help.

Usually the distance in watering in winter has to do with plants going dormant, and houses using heating that is drying. You really want to just trust your judgment and your plant. It's hard to tell in the pic, white spots can be edema on cactus from overwatering. They can be a scale pest called cochineal too. I'd look both up and see which it looks more like.

So I looked up the edema, and it definitely looks like that. But it has definitely not been over watered. It’s been well over a month (maybe two) and I have an ear that is shriveling up. Just definitely stumps me.

You can customize your watering schedule to remind you at the interval you have been watering. 😊👍🏻
