definitely under watering. the plant is compensating for lack of water by limiting its growth, that’s why the tops are skinny. make sure to throughly soak the soil at each watering session.

I guess I was being TOO careful to not over water it in the winter. If it’s fully dried out again should I water it again?
0개 좋아요yes if the soil is dry it’s time to water. cacti can be picky but they retain water really well. just make sure that when you do water, throughly soak it. then let the excess drain.

좋아요 1개planta isn’t always correct (i found that out the hard way). your specific climate and a million other factor will determine what each of your plants needs. these forum groups really are great for solving issues! it takes a village :)

My cactus and succulents are the only ones I blindly follow on planta because I assumed it could be safe, but considering I’ve snoozer planta for WEEKS for some of my other plants, I shoulda known lol thanks everyone!

Could be underwater and lack of light. Even in my brightest window my peanut cactus never did well until I put a grow light directly above it.
