I am having trouble identifying these four plants. First pic I had down as a Gasteria Oblique, which came from Planta I believe. And now I know is wrong. Two I have as Gasteraloe Flow. Three I have as Gonialoe Tiger Aloe. Four I have as Gonialoe Variegata. I think one and two are the same. I’ve looked online and the Flow seems to be confusing. Tiger aloe is probably correct. And the id for Variegata is also confusing. They all have the same care but wanted more precise names. So is anyone confident of what they actually are?

These are pretty. Are they succulents or cactus? No idea the difference…..

These are various succulent plants. Succulents, which is derived from Latin roots and generally means nectar or sap bearing plant, have thick leaves for retaining water and waxy coatings for deterring evaporation. Contrary to common belief, cacti and succulents are not distinct plant types. Cactuses are one of the many plant families that fall under the umbrella of succulent, but not all succulents are cacti. The main distinction is that cacti usually have areoles, or holes for spines.

Wow; what a small world we live in. I bought the exact same succulent at Lowe’s today! I’m not a horticulturist, so don’t quote me on this, but I think the first one is a Haworthiopsis concolor; it took a little bit of searching but I found it in the Planta database. 3 and 4 look like variegata ā€˜tiger’ aloe.

You are running into same problem I have. They have removed them from Haworthia and given them entirely new family, genus or whatever. But I’m pretty sure it’s a hybrid of aloe and Gasteria which means it would not be a Haworthiopsis. At least I don’t think so. I’m just so confused. Think I’ll just call it the pointy prickly plant.

looks like your first pic is a zebra haworthia. last pic looks like some kind of aloe, not sure about the middle two. maybe try google lens for those?

Thanks for trying but they are all hybrids. That I’m sure of. Google Lens tried several times. I think I’ll just make do with what I think is correct. But it works since they have same care. From my research, it appears they are all hybrids of gasteria and aloe. They are beautiful plants, doing well, and that will have to do.
