Hello, I got this plant as a gift a while ago and I was just wondering about at the least this large new growth and if there is something that needed to be done to it. I have seen this plant grows to be very tall but since it is only connected by one little point on the main plant I wanted to know if there was something that needed to be done! Sorry that I am a newbie to this!

This is a Euphorbia trigona. It looks like it was recieving inadequate light. It perfers really bright indirect light with very little or no direct sun. It will branch out the older it gets and can even shoot pups up from the bottom. I wouldn't worry about the pinch off point at the new growth spot. It will callus over and get woody if the plant needs more support for itself. Here is my seven year old Euphorbia trigona for reference. They are extremely resilient. Just make sure to provide the right lighting conditions.
