Is this salvageable? This cactus was in a nursery pot that was planted with 5 other cacti. The pot was getting too crowded so we went to repot and this is what we found. All the bottoms of the others also look the same. Nothing smells rotten but not sure if these are past the saving point. Thanks for the help!

    From what I can see it looks normal. Just only growing roots on the one side

    You can definitely work with this. Any really dark and papery roots can be removed. An abundance of dead roots will only decay in the soil potentially causing root rot. If you prune the roots, let it sit out to dry for a few days (no direct sun) before the repot. Once repotted, wait another few days to a week before watering again. Then continue care as usual.
