Just heard about stress watering. I’d like to thicken the trunk of my Jade cutting, Nova. Are there any tips on this or any other methods that may help!?

    To manage water stress in Jade cuttings, let the cut ends callous for a few days before planting to prevent rot. Use a gritty, well-draining succulent mix and wait until you see new growth or roots before providing a full watering. ​Key Tips for Success ​Avoid overwatering: Only mist the surface or provide a small amount of water every 1–2 weeks; the cutting relies on its stored moisture until roots form. ​Watch for shriveling: Slight wrinkling is normal as the cutting uses its energy to root, but extreme shriveling means it needs a light drink. ​Light requirements: Keep cuttings in bright, indirect light rather than direct sun to prevent them from drying out too quickly before they can drink. ​Temperature: Maintain a steady environment around 65°F to 75°F to encourage faster root development.

    Nova has apparently rooted…new growth (even a new branch started)! I’m looking to thicken her trunk. My Alexa recommended stress watering…letting it dry completely between watering. (Every 2-3 weeks in this season) and that should help.
