Hi friends! 🌵 Today was watering day for my cactus and I noticed some spots that may be concerning? I really do not know if this is unusual, but I have never noticed them before and I have had my cactus for about 10 months now. I’m wondering if it is time to repot…as you can see just a few roots coming from the bottom of the pot. If anyone knows what this is or what to do, I would greatly appreciate some advice!

I’m not exactly sure with the spots (it could be corking from age, maybe?), but I wouldn’t repot unless you see more root than dirt. I’m new to cacti, so it would probably be best to wait for another response.

From everything I’ve heard and read, cacti like tight pots!! And there should definitely be more root to dirt before repotting. Sometimes just one root tries to escape out the bottom which is totally normal! So I would wait to repot, it could honestly could probably go 2 years before repotting (I think!) About the spots, idk what they are but they don’t look too concerning to me! Corking could be a possibility though:)
