I understand it's not a succulent, but it's close lol. I bought this bromelaid as a tiny plant from the dying section at lowes. When I bought it it was 1 plant, mostly burgundy with some green and white spots all over it. It has multiple many times over, but it's lost its burgundy color and none of the new sprouts have any spots. Can anyone tell me what happened? Can I do something to get the burgundy color back? 😩

The old plant is the larger one in the center with white spots on it. Its just put out a bunch of new pups. All of the pups are solid green.

My bromelaid gets red colored in the sun and green in the shade.

Bromeliads LOVE sun. Color will change with sun. Keep her warm. Most important: ONLY WATER in the “funnel” (middle) when you see no standing water in there (obviously you won’t be able to do this once she blossoms (and that’s when you’ll be knocked over by real color!). Good luck!
