I need help. I gave it too much water and didn’t realize at the time, and now I’m sure the roots are rotting. I’ve noticed that there’s a lot of little fruit fly looking bugs around it. Also, it’s been drooping and the leaves have been falling. My mom kinda buried it in the soil so it wouldn’t droop anymore (idk if that should’ve been done or not). I don’t really know how to take care of this plant. Is it too late now to fix? What should I do?

I have overrated my succulents before too. I would repot with fresh cactus soil and wait for a while before watering again. Also when you take it out of the current pot, look at all the roots and chop off the rotted ones. Maybe rinse the roots before repotting but I'm not completely sure if rinsing them will damage it at all.

Take it out of the pot. Check the roots to see if anything may be viable. You will probably need to cut off the top of the rosette. Make sure there is no black roots or black stem. If stem is black, nothing you can do except toss it and try again. Next time use good quality succulent/cactus soil. Not Miracle Grow, unless you amend it. You can diy some soil. Recipes online. Your terracotta pot is a great choice. Only water when entire pot is dry. Leaves may feel a little bendable.

Forgot to add. If you need to chop up to rosette, keep enough stem to stabilize in new soil. Remove bottom leaves and place stem into soil. After a few days use a squirt bottle to add water just around the stem. Do not water the entire pot. Water when looking dehydrated. After a few weeks you should have roots. Then you can start watering more thoroughly.
